British WW1 4in Naval Cases

I have always struggled to understand which case went with what 4in Naval gun. The Royal Navy appeared to have numerous versions in service and a bunch of sub-models for each! Pictured is what I think is the case for the 4in Mk I, II or III guns. Sadly it had been used in a trench art ornament and at some point the base markings have been ground off. The length is accurate as the holders for the closing cup are still in place. Length 368mm, rim 139mm and mouth 110mm. This case would have used the primer adapted that stands proud of the case rim. Also pictured is a 4in Mk4 case for separate loading guns, well marked. Length 493mm, rim 134mm and mouth 106mm.
