As I noted in a Brixia mortar thread, a recent addition needed a longer safing strap.
The brass sheet arrived.
Scribed a line with a metal ruler and sharpened nut picker. Cut with heavy duty scissors. Filed the edges.
Takes about a 7/16" X 4 1/2" (5mm X 110mm) strip. A crimped roll around the pin. The original was spot welded at the roll. Could be soldered if one was anal.
The end should be cut and rounded and peened over the tab of the safety cap.
I haven't done that yet.
So, if anybody needs a piece to "fix" their Brixia, PM me. There's enough for another 30 or 40. Postage will be nominal.
