Can You Tell What It Is Yet?!

We believe WWI and possibly a grenade, strange shape and segmentation though and absolutely no one with a real idea of what it is, quite possibly not even Ordnance.
 
I am sorry, but to me it looks more like the part of an ornament for a lamp or something like that. What is the wall thickness?

My personal thoughts also pzgr40, not so much that it is part of an old lamp, but that it is almost definitely non ordnance, but without anything definite no one knows... maybe an antique collector would know.
 
I thought it was part of an antique bedstead but,,,,,,bedsteads dont usualy have "filling screws/plugs,?????,otherwise I have no idea,it will be interesting to find out exactly what it is,
