Canadian made 57mm M23 round

Pictured is a Canadian made case for the British 6pdr 7cwt tank and anti-tank gun. However, the case is marked for the US variant of the gun, 57mm and case designator M23A2. My understanding is CLC is the Canadian Motor Lamp company. The case came with a British HE projectile,as pictured, with a No244 fuze made in 1943 by KBY (Kirby England). From my references the US did not have a home grown HE projectile for their 57mm guns, but did they use British HE ammunition in their guns? The simpler explanation is both items ended up in Belgium and they have been married at some point! Glad to have your thoughts.
