Canadian No.77 Grenade for Review

Hi,

I recently found this inert Canadian made No.77 Mk1 smoke grenade. It came with a General Electric of Canada made No.247 MK1Z "always" fuze all complete with its
split tip striker. My questions are:

- Who is the maker of the body CC/C I presume the last C is for Canada?
- I have never seen or heard of a transparent made No.247 always fuze, a variant I presume?

CC/C is the Continental Can Co., Canada.

An interesting fuze; beats making a sectioned example.

Nice score. I saw those 2 grenades as well and thought of getting one. Bought some other stuff off the seller instead.
 
That's a really neat grenade. Is the body supposed to be painted?

I have seen lots of these grenades over the years, both UK and Canadian manufactured. All have black Bakelite fuzes, including the ones made by GE. I can only imagine that yours was made for display purposes. I really like it. Good find.
 
That is a very nice find, i was surprised to see the tape was not marked like so many of these in the UK, Dave
