Hello,
After research, it would be a French grapeshot box for the 4 field gun (84mm), in service from around 1858 to 1875.
Identical box for the 4 de Montagne gun which was in service from 1859 until around 1880.
This zinc bullet box weighed 4.725 kg and was loaded with 41 26 mm bullets weighing 70 grams.
See the attached diagram of the 4-gun box taken from volume VI of General Favé's book.
The X-ray of the projectile at 100 pulses suggests the arrangement of the loading which seems to correspond.
