Cap ID

I picked this up as a curiosity as I haven't seen the like before. Top says 'Remove cap before loading' but there are no other marks on it.

I assume it is military and fits inside a 75mm shell case as the outside diameter of the cut ring is exactly 75mm.

Anyone recognise it or what it fits?

I think this goes on the mouth of the Engine Starter cartridge made by Kynoch in the early 1950s.

Ah yes, it must be a really early one as the ones I have seen before are made of plastic (?) I think.

I agree that this cap fits a No9 Mk2 Starter Cartridge as my example shows.
