Cartridge Case Identification Requested

A friend asked if I can identify the cartridge case shown in the attached photographs. I don't know it (not my field) but I am sure many of you can put a designation to it and perhaps say what ordnance it was used with. I apologise for the poor legibility of the stampings on the base. The case is about 4 feet long and 12 inches in diameter (305 x 1201R) [30.5 cm]. Many thanks.

Hello Norman, you can start here, German Naval 30.5cm x 1220mm SK L/50 rim diameter 350mm, I can't say more than that but I am sure someone can add to my comments,these big shells are not my thing
