Case ID question

I'm away from my library today and was asked about an ID on this case. Found in Lebanon, the desk view looked a little large, like a 76mm, but in the hand view it looks closer to a 57mm. No dimensions given. Can anyone give me an ID, what it is for, and what is the deal with the groove in the base? I've seen plenty of both calibers, but I'm not a case guy and I don't remember the groove there.

Thanks.

You are right , it's a 57x348 SR shellcase for a S-60 anti aircraft gun.
Here a picture with the OR281 HEI-T SD and BR281 APHE-T cartridges.
It was used in single , double and quadriple naval mounts, as wel as in the ZSU-57-2 self propelled anti aircraft gun
The groove is meant for the four cartridges clip.

It's the same gun that "Hanoi" Jane Fonda was sitting on when she was in North Vietnam, that had been used to shoot down Americans.

The groove in the case head is the distinguishing mark that makes it easy to ID the case.

Thanks for posting that buddy!

Peas in a pod, or scumbags in a toilet!

Would anyone out there in BOCN Land have one of those 4-round 57mm clips for sale or trade? I don't care if it's Russian or Chinese.
