This is a 1944 dated Generator Lachyrmatory No. 2 Mk V likely employing ADAMSITE (DM).... nobody was willing to give it a try after the RS procedure:tinysmile_cry_t4:

Used by the RCMP as well as Military Police and Veteran's Guard ONLY in Canada for PW riot control.

What an excellent item, fantastic condition. I have an inert British example but the markings are rubbed due to handling. I have a 1960's Belgian manual that shows these as well, I think the Belgians used quite a bit of British kit after WW2. Tony.
 
Excuse the delay in replying, been a while since I have had the time to visit my boards. There was only one, it was turned over to me by a senior Firearms Officer.
