Been quite lucky over the years and have worked in/on a few military sites.
Bournemouth airport(RAF Hurn), DSG at Bovington, Henstridge airfield(HMS Dipper) and recently the Isle of White Military museum,doing some restoration on a WW2 Churchill tank.
Unfortunately the museum closed after id only done 2 months on this tank due to a dispute with the landlord. Originally a Salisbury plain target,this tank had some damage! Sad the museum has gone as the staff and volunteers are all great people and had put ten years work into the place. Red oxide pics are before and white paint after,the bolts are plugging threaded holes that have all been chased or had thread repairs. Used loads of taps as armour plate doesnt like being tapped! Bogey unit has Carl Gustav practice round jammed in. Controls are drivers pedals and steering servos. Cheers tig.
