Color 60mm WP Smoke WWII color

The 60mm WP Smoke round as far as I can tell is gray with yellow markings, is that correct? Does the yellow band go entirely around the body of the round? If these colors are incorrect please let me know. Also, is it the same gray as the 60mm illumination round?

Thanks
Mike

Depends on the date of the projectile. The color code was changed, someone will have the exact date, and the later color was pale green with a yellow band and red markings. I want to say that the color change was around the 1960s, but I've never paid that much attention to the specific year. If your projectile is dated (stamped) during WWII then gray is correct, the full markings are in the period TMs, 9-1900, 9-1904 etc.

The gray of the WWII WP round is the same gray as the Illum of that period. The yellow band does go all the way around the body to signify HE burster.
