I was able to visit this museum and what a nice surprise. It is totally amateur run, is rather scruffy but to the older generation this is what a museum should be like. A mix of uncle's collections and granny's attic.

Located in a number of buildings on the WW2 Davidstow airfield (Coastal Command) it has a some airframes, Hawker Hunter, Fairy Gannet and a V1 plus simulators and various 'rooms' housing themed collections. There are some very fine exhibits (including vehicles) plus a few mis labelled items.

The oddest room is a recreation of an officer's mess meal with about 100 dressed mannequins in the room.

So if you are passing, drop in and enjoy. It's well worth your time.

Yes, an unexpected surprise if you didn’t know it was there but well worth a visit if you happen to be in North Cornwall.
