Deformed 3" mortar

Hi there
I recently picked up this mortar, it appears to be a British 3" model, marked 3' MOR 10LB II LMP 1/38. However, look at the body shape. The tailfins are 81mm but the body is 90mm at the sealing ring. Could this have been swollen by a partial detonation of its charge or can anyone think of any reason why it should be like this?
The threads in the fuze pocket are intact and there are no visible stress cracks.

Hello that is a very strange as 3" works out as 76.2mm so even the fins are too large ?

Hi There
It is my understanding that the 3" mortar was actually 3.2" or 81mm but I stand to be corrected. The item is definitely British, apart from the stampings mentioned, it has several crows foot marks.
