Disposing of my collection.

I have decided to dispose of most of my collection. I don't have the space for it at home and if it stays in its present storage much longer it will start to deteriorate. Its mostly Land Service Ammunition, with a few aircraft bomb and naval mine fuzes, plus two deactivated weapons - a Dragunov rifle and a PKM machine gun. I'm going to keep my commercial sporting ammunition collection though.

So, where is the best place to sell it? I gather ebay is out these days. What about Specialist Auctions or Milweb?

I've hardly added anything new to the collection for ten years or so, so I really have no ideas about current values. Once I get my camera sorted out I'll post pics of some of the items.

Any advice from you experts out there would be greatly appreciated.

Hello Bruce i would opt for specialist auctions ,its well known and easy to use,

Sorry to hear that Bruce.

Do you have any 30mm x 170mm examples for sale?

Kind regards

Charlie

specialistauction.com is best Bruce, no listing fees and cheaper selling fees than Ebay (and no ebay police!). Milweb has a limited following. Dave

Sorry to hear that, it is always sort of sad when a collection gets broken up.

While eBay is as irritating as hell, it still is the most "populated" venue. I see shells and related stuff regularly but recently, an empty casing that I wanted to buy got yanked. You might just give it a try first.

Anything Hotchkiss, 1.65", 42mm would be of interest to me. Or a 3pdr casing.

Id be interested in any fuzes too.And small bombs.Bomb fuzes too,and fuzes with bombs.:xd:

Disposing of Collection

I know lots of people who have cut down their collections me included.
Auction will get best price but there is always some hassle. I guess on line type are easier than Geoff in Kent who did his own in a local hall it cost him but he didn't get any selling fees etc which add up.
Interested to hear/see how it goes as I want to cut down some bits but that wont stop me selectively buying if you've got something I need.
If you have a list of bits it might well be worth posting it or emailing it to anyone interested and taking the best offers. good luck with it.

Hi
For whats it is worth specialists auctions.com is probably your best bet
as you would get fair prices and everyone would have the chance to
compete for what they like.
