That's what I thought ... So these are actually Belgium rounds that were sold to Germany for use.

Joe

Hello,

I need help to understand because I'm completely disappointed with "Dm" nomencalture !

I noticed that german used Dm22 and Dm12a1 for different rockets.

Questions :

-I assume "jvollenberg" shows a grenade for panzerfaust 44, so why the nomencalture is the same for very differents rockets used with panzerfaust 3 ?

-On the picture we can see two different grenades (different extended probe) with same marking Dm12a1 ?
The Dm22 shown is like one of the Dm12a1 (same nose) ?

Regards

DM is a german nomenclature. Each country use the nomenclature as it want.
I think in Germany, they use a different nomenclature for the different ammunitions of ONE weapon. So you can have two munitions with the same nomenclature but used with different launchers.
That'sonly a supposition of mine ! ! !

They might have also recycled the nomenclature ...
The projectile I showed is old, yours are newer. Maybe when the old one went away, they reused it.
It could also be they track them by LOT as well. My projectile was bought from Belgium, yours are made in Germany.
Just a couple of guesses.

Ok for the same nomenclature with old and new grenades for different launchers, but I still don't understand why two rockets (see picture) with different shape have the same designation (Dm12a1).

Minenaz16,
when I look on your picture, on the third pic (marked DM12A1), the grenade is more similar as the first pic, a grenade marked DM22.
Your problem is not two different grenades with the same marking (DM12A1, pic 2 and 3) but the same grenade with two different nomenclature (pic 1 and 3) :questionmark: :stoned:

I do not agree. There are even 3 different versions of the complete round:
DM12 with Fuze DM11
DM12A1 with Fuze DM11
DM22 with Fuze DM21

Ok for the same nomenclature with old and new grenades for different launchers, but I still don't understand why two rockets (see picture) with different shape have the same designation (Dm12a1).
The nomenclature of the Pzf 3 is equally difficult.
Stay with:
DM12 and DM12A1 are normal HEAT
DM22 tandem HEAT
