Does any one know the manufacturer of this ?

It has what appears to be a C Broad Arrow on it. I am unaware of this gun being
used in Canada, though it appears we had some in France in 1915.

according to Hogg both 15pr QF and BL saw limited service at the start of WWI.

The scanned copy I have of the "15-pdr Q.F. Gun Land Service" manual is dated "1914" and covers shrapnel shells from Mk II-VI, noting that Mks II - IV were obsolete. So basically only Mk V & VI were used at the start of the war. There is no mention of a Mk VII - which is the one posted and having a "1915" date would seem to match up.

The difference between the various Mks are highlighted at the end of a post I started on 15 pdrs, basically covering the difference driving band construction and number of shrapnel balls.

Thanks for posting - I don't think I have seen a MK VII before - most common is the Mk V (1900s).

Cheers
Drew

(BTW- I just have to keep telling myself that I just collect fuzes now....................although there is a Mk V (1900) and a Mk II (1896) lurking around here somewhere!)
