Very well rounded take on the famous WWII event http://www.imdb.com/title/tt5013056/, a bit of patriotism, a bit of acting, a lot of fighting and even more scenes of claustrophobia. Nice flying scenes. Does Spitfire really allow manual landing gear down mode, when the plane runs out of fuel and engine shuts down?

I believe the first Spitfires, certainly MK Is, only had a manual landing gear, and you had to pump a lever to retract or lower gear. The pumping action was the cause of both the famous "Spitfire Wobble" and "Spitfire Knuckle"

This often caused crashes on take off as the pilot pumped with one hand while holding the stick with the olther causing the plane to kangaroo alongafter take off (while wraaping his knuckle on inside of the fuselage).. im sure its described in the book "First Ligt" by Geoffrey Wellum, which is an awesome read.

Also, minor point, it feels somewhat rich picking up on patriotism, given thats not a british trait at all, vs movies from your side of the pond.... just saying. :)
