Early German headstamp interpretation

Hi All,
I have been tasked to decipher the headstamp of an early German cart. I am awaiting the cart. length, but have been advised that it is of 105mm caliber.
I am particularly interested to know what the Roman numeral II at the top, the VI on the left of primer & 17 under MAGDEBURG mean please?

17 = Lot No.
the roman II I think has to do something with reloading

Hello Ozzi,
Have just seen your post & photo this evening. The small crowned 'M' in the 12 o'clock position is the Kaiserliche Marine (Imperial Navy) arsenal's acceptance stamp if that's any help?
