I am pretty sure this part was mounted in the German 10,5 cm L.F.H.Gr. or the H.Gr.15 as a separator between the fuze and filling. But it seems this practise did not last for a long time since all drawings of the shell I found are without this cup. An other possibility is that it was used only for a special filling.
