Good morning,
I am trying to identify this object. It's brass.
Width of 76.2mm and width of 83mm at the collar.

It is possible that this has nothing to do with ammunition.

interesting part!

I am pretty sure this part was mounted in the German 10,5 cm L.F.H.Gr. or the H.Gr.15 as a separator between the fuze and filling. But it seems this practise did not last for a long time since all drawings of the shell I found are without this cup. An other possibility is that it was used only for a special filling.

Hello,

finally I found the part. It's from a (10,5 cm) Vers.F.H.Gr. (Versuchs Feldhaubitzgranate). So that also explains why it is not commonly seen.

165000 of them were ordered starting in October 1914 for a large troop test. Later the shell became the 10,5 cm L.F.H.Gr.

Sorry but that's a different part for the F.H.Gr.05 which is well known. It has a hole in the bottom which connects to the shrapnel flash tube.

The part shown by Julien has a closed bottom.
