Expensive WWII Rations - Feebay

The set of 3 mint unopened WWII K-Rations sold for a cool US$610. At that price who would eat them? Instead one would've been saving them for their retirement fund.
 
It might be worth to make complete and usable reproductions of these. Reenactors might be happy to pay for.
 
I believe there have been repro boxes of these for at least 20 years.
 
But there is nothing like the feeling of trumping another reenactor with "Oh you have authentic repro", insert item x, "I have the real thing"
