F1 Grenade Box - How is the base attached to the sides?

Hi guys,

In a previous post I mentioned I was going to be building a replica box to store my F1 grenades, well I have come to a point where I am about to assembly the box however after trawling through every picture I can find I cant seem to figure out how the base is attached to the sides.

If anybody has an original F1 grenade box out there please could you provide some info? Or even better post a picture or to showing how the base is attached?

WW 1 French F1, WW2 Russian F1, post war yugo F1, quite a few types.
