I saw this for sale at a car boot sale.
It is made from a 27mm Mauser BK27 cartridge case.
The seller claimed he had bought it as part of a collection of WW2 German militaria. The asking price was 120. Of course This wasn't changed when I informed him that it was a fake as the cartridge case was made long after the end of WW2. Of course it went back on the stall hoping for someone to come along and buy it.
Notice the nonsensical stamped markings.
