First World War Cordite Pouches

Hi all,
I recently acquired an August 1916 dated artillery cordite box. I believe that artillery cordite came in white cotton or woollen pouches but I cannot remember where I came across this or why I believe this. If anyone can help me shed some light on this that would be much appreciated and furthermore if anyone knows where I could get my hands on any.

It looks more like the boxes loose Cordite was stored and moved between the manufacturing plant and the filling factories to be made up into charges. As UK used standard cordite for a range of charges, bulk stock of loose propellant was held by base ammunition depots to be issues to the filling factories on demand. Longtown used to hold significant quantities of bulk propellant at one time.

If this was a box for Cordite charges it would be marked up something along the lines of "Charge Propelling 6" Howitzer Mk3"
