FLIEGERPFEIL ( Aviatordart ) WW 1

I just scored this and think it may be the same item described in the patents that Dave and EOD posted?

OMG!!!!!!!! Wonderful item. You've done well there.
Thanks for showing it!
Dave.

Can we see a picture straight from the side?

Jason,

Did you buy this because it might be adapted to being tank fired, therefore an APFSDS or APDS related specimen!!?

I couldn't resist the temptation. Very nice, unique item. Hope to see more pictures after it arrives.

Thanks Dave!

Subs, it is currently inbound to me. As soon as it arrives I will take more pics of it as well as a side profile photo for you. :)

Brian, thanks for leading me to this thread. I was not sure what it was when I bought other then I knew it was special when I saw it. It's complexity is pretty amazing considering it's patent date of 1914.

While researching the above item I came across this anti-airship incendiary item. Was not rally sure where to post it :)

The photo came with this description: "Anti-airship incendiary. As part of anti-airship operations conducted by the Royal Flying Corps and Royal Naval Air Service (flights, balloon aprons and artillery) this anti-airship incendiary device was developed by the Royal Laboratory, Woolwich. The spikes were intended to pierce and lodge in the airship's fabric covering, triggering a firebomb contained in the orange sphere."
