Foreign Boys .55

I picked up a South African fired case, and I know for reading through these web pages that there are Canadian Boys rounds too. But I was not aware that the Italians produced some as well.

Are there any other countries that produced Boys rounds?

I know the collector in SA who owns the Italian made Boys round. Apparently it is the only one known in any collection.

I bet there are a few cases lying around the North African desert then.........

If it was used in any quantity one would think there would be a few more around that were picked up as souvenirs by soldiers. For example Italian 20x138B cases are fairly common for this reason.

maybe in a few year a box will turn up somewhere, but i suppose you are correct in saying that it would have turned up by now

Foreign Boys

I have never seen an Italian .55 Boys although I understand Will in SA has one.

South African Boys are hard to find, but I have this SA Drill Mark I. It is unchromed and has the red painted flutes and is headsramped "U D I".
