I visited Portsmouth a year or so back and did all three gun-related museums - Fort Nelson, the Historic Dockyards and 'Explosion'. The last of these was my favourite, packed full of 20th century naval guns and ammo. Sadly, it's only open at weekends. See: http://www.explosion.org.uk/
