French 10.5cm WW1 Shrapnel

I am trying to preserve rather than restore the pictured 105mm French shrapnel shell from the Model 1913 gun. My view is that this is an early type projectile from WW1. Having cleaned, fitted the fuze and primed I am now stuck. Can anybody offer what the colour scheme should be?

105mm shrapnel were painted red but I don't know the code color.
Black markings on body.
