Hi,
Does anyone here have any technical drawings relating to the French 155mm Mle 1917 GP projectile. I'm grateful to everyone who has identified the shell, now I'm looking for colour schemes, variations, etc. I've attached a pic of the example in my collection, minus fuse. Seen a few images of boat tail stuff, single driving bands, etc, but nothing so far re twin bands, non boat tail.

Am I right in assuming GP shells were all twin banded due to the increased charge used to propel the shell?

Many thanks in advance!

All ordnance in my collection is completely free from explosive elements and totally inert.

Hello starshell,

Here some drawings from a German handbook of 155 mm shells with twin bands.

Grtz,
greif
