Ok had a go at restoring my WW1 french 37mm shell, on the whole iam pleased with how it came out.

And the final stage painting,
Items used very fine wet n dry sand paper, revell satin black and a model putty simply called 'white putty' (by squadron products)

i have AP shot of same caliber but it hasn't looked so good even when it was new :D
