French 75 star shell?

Got this off a friend, after much looking the only reference to white painted body is on a french text colour chart on here. It shows a blue line above the driveband. Is it a star shell? Tig

Possibly illuminating Tony, see attached which probably follows French colour schemes of the era

Hello,
Could be a 75mm shrapnel shell 1897 (mixed charge = white body) used for training (blue band above driving band - rejected shell used on training ranges).

I think you are correct M. It came in a 1911 case, is that correct? Also have you a cutaway of this loading?
