I picked this one up today.

I was impressed by the amount of original paint on it.
All INERT.

Hi Dave,
Superb shell.
I recently acquired a fairly good one, complete with fuze but not quite good enough to leave as is. I have derusted, filled and painted it, including the white band, using your shell as a guide. On your shell, there appears to be the faint remains of a black band just below the ogive. Am I right? Are there any other bands on the shell and what are the white markings just above the driving band? Any help would be appreciated.
Regards, Dave.

Hi, I picked it up for the swaps box and got rid of it a while back so I can't remember what the specific markings were on it.
Its just as you see it in the photos.
Sorry I can't help more.
Dave.

Hi,
Many thanks for the reply and the pic. Your info is most useful. There's a bit more to the markings on the French 75's than I first realised.
Regards, Dave.
