French 81mm mortar?

Hi guys,

I am pretty sure this lamp was made out of a French mortar round, 81mm, but I am not sure with what projectile and from what era. The body is slick and apart of a square indicating a dummy round there's no other visible mark.

TIA

Hello,
French 81mm, practice, era 20's/30's.
Typical inter war combination, body of 81mm BM18 or 81mm FA M21 and 24/27 tail fins.
As you noticed, the square is for an inert loading.
White head, unpainted body (or black I don't know).

Thanks a lot, MINENAZ16, I thought you would have the answer, it's not a very nice lamp, however, it's a very nice shell!!
