Evening All,
Just been doing a little research on a couple of naval cutlasses, which appear to match the French Model 1804 Naval Cutlass (Sabre de Marine Briquet ANXI) but not with the typical French markings.
I can't make out the stamp on the D guard..............
If anyone can shed some light on the markings and /or if the French exported the Model 1804 to other countries, would be of course greatly appreciated.
Thanks
Cheers
Drew

The story "behind" the swords is that they suppose to have been Chinese "pirate" swords, which may hold some merit examining the markings on /near the ricasso.I can't make out the stamp on the D guard..............
