French Studded 14cm ? Projectile.

Here is another zinc studded early projectile I need to identify.
My guess is a French 14cm (138mm) canon de 14. I know 136/138mm was used by French Navy, maybe the army also.
It has a hexagonal pointed steel nose plug with a hole to remove it but it is too tight to undo. Would this be an original nose plug?

Two lots of zinc studs. The large ones are 44mm diam. and 5mm high.
Small ones are 22mm diam and seem odd by being flush with the body ,unless altered by a previous owner. Why 2 different size studs?
Small studs are 23mm from the base. centre-to-centre of studs is 112mm,

Body is 136.5mm diam. 330mm long with nose plug. 300mm long without plug.
It weighs 18kg (36.7lb).

Looks correct for a French Navy 14cm studded shell (late 1860).
Not common today. Nice round.

Same shells in other calibers, 16cm, 19cm, etc.

No doc for the 14cm. H. BELOT describes other calibers.

Le 14 cm ; jamais vu, parmi tout ce que j'ai pu voir.
Sa variante en 19cm avec sa fusée marine ? Jamais vu non plus.

Good evening, thank you for the quick reply. I have already held a few of these pretty antiques in my hands, but in 16 cm. I can measure again. The 14 cm one; never seen, among everything I have been able to see. Its 19 cm variant with its marine fuse? Never seen that either.

My example is 136.5mm body diameter so if it is French it exists as shown.

Then uncommon. Can you show the complete fuze please ?

My projectile only has that steel 6- sided nose plug with a hole drilled through it. It will not un-screw, too tight.
See my photos. I have never seen a fuze.

Example we have in our museum is 136.6 diameter for 14cm gun (Navy).
The plug is correct (typical hexagonal design).
We found one filled sand (used as practice) with same plug.
The fuze is pointed (not hexagonal) and made of brass.

16cm shell (same design) is more common. I found one in the North of France (for example, the gun is called 16cm, the real caliber is 164.7cm and the real diameter of the shell is 162.3cm)
