I got this as a present, came from a charity shop (of all places),

I guess that this is some sort of artillery airbust fuse, can anyone give me any clues on what it actually is and who woulld have used it at what time.

I can upload more pictures of different angles if would help.

Complete with adaptor.

And it is still fitted with what looks like a very good condition thread adaptor!
WW1 is not my thing but my 18 pounder sharpnel shell had a Number 80 with adaptor.
See No 80 without adaptor ring.

i also got a shell casing of come sort! i willil post a picture tommorow.
its quite a heavy lump no pins as far as could see
