It's a 222 B fuze, the corroded top would have been made from white metal,they were also made completely of brass.
Used on the 25 pdr with HE and BE smoke shells.
Thanks for the DTM, I have the 222B completely made out of brass, but I never thought they also made them like this, also there is nothing to be found on it which should/could indicate which one it was..
