The pattern is M15 so as it was for a trench mortar, production began certainly from 1914 until 1939 , it is still documented in the Cours superieur des munitions from the Ecole Centrale de Pyrotechnie edited 1922. the french Etat Major had always in mind that if a future war was happening,it would be a new trench war!
