Operation by pressure on the striker forcing the striker flange through an adjustable shearing blade. The deeper the cut the greater the pressure required. Can also be set to also operate on a trip wire (with max. Pressure setting).
With too much retirement time I dismantled and reproduced exact, interchangeable set of parts.
