GE M/964 60 mm Mortar Bomb Rounds

These 60 mm mortar bomb rounds cropped up in Syria, along with some Iranian 60 mm HE LR mortar bomb rounds.

They seems to be designated as either GE M/964 or M/964, and to be variants of the M49A2, but fitted with a derivative of the AZ DM111 fuze.

Production details on a few, which are visible, seems to be LOTE FMP-1-50, suggesting they may be quite old if the 50 is a truncated 1950.

It is unknown if the boxes behind the rounds, marked Indonesia, are related.

I did wonder if it was Portuguese. Partly from the 'LOTE' bit, and also from a book on Portuguese hand grenades that I have, some of which have a similar M/xxx designation format.

I guess the GE is something like Granada Explosivo, or something to do with the Portuguese for a round of ammunition, or high explosive (alto-explosivo)?
