Hi,

Does anyone have any information, (documentation or photos) of the German model 1905 10.5cm Universal shell. I'm trying to establish whether this shell was issued with a percussion fuze, such as a Hz05 or Hz14, or a time and percussion fuze 'Hz05 Ib'.
I think I may have such a shell, but need a bit of clarification as to the fuze it would have had.

Many thanks in advance.

Only the H.Z. 05 series was used for the universal shell. The H.Z.14 is a fuze for HE shells.

The F. H. Schr. 16 is only 326mm long, the F. H. Geschoss 05 is 347mm long. A H.Z.05 Gr. or a H.Z.05 Schr. would be the wrong fuzes for the universal shell.

Many thanks Alpini,
I thought as much. I have a very nice H.Z. 05 fuze but it has expanded slightly to the point where the threads won't engage with the shell.
The shell is now confirmed as a universal 10.5cm.

The hunt continues for the fuze.....
Cheers!
