German 105mm?

I pick up this shell today from a fellow who claimed it was a 88mm of course it's not. I think it's a 105mm but not sure what war. The rim dia. is 5 inches the inside dia. of the shell is a little over four inches. And the over all lenght is 19 3/4 inches. The larger German shells are a bit hard to find here on the west coast. Most have been cut down and made into ash trays.

yes, it's a 105 mm and it is from 1st WW - the date is stamped 3 o'clock. The length (105 x 504R) should be ok.

Thanks for the reply I was hoping it was WWI. BTW the fellow I got this shell from is 75 years old and is a heavy smoker most of the dark brown finish on the shell I believe is nicotine.
