Hi Big Dave quite a scarce case.

According to the book "Military Rifle and Machine Gun Cartridges" by Jean Huon the German 13 x 94 has the same case as the 7.92 Panzerbuchse but with a larger calibre bullet. It was used before 1939 for training with anti tank rifles to keep the 7.92 x 94 cartridge secret.

Variations included ball, ap, light bullet (aluminium cored), light bullet tracer, blank (wooden bullet) and dummy (Black plastic cartridge with steel base).

Bullet diameter 13.22mm
Neck diameter 14.61mm
Base diameter 20.91mm
Rim diameter 21.95mm
Case length 94.6mm
Total length 118mm

Hope this helps,

Dave.

Thanks guys for the replies ,i bought the case as i had never seen one before ,seen a few of the 7.92 version on my travels but not the 13 mm. Someone told me the Poles also did not issue their 7.92 x107 Maroszek ammo before the war began ,to try and keep it secret from the Germans ,so both sides were playing hide the ammo ,many thanks Dave

Great case, only the green paint is missing.

Rgds

Hi Dave,
The showed Pzb. 39/13 case is from a L.S. (Leichtes Spitzgeschoss), a bullet with an Aluminum core.
