German 1940 adapter?

Hello,

Recently acquired this following one of those “if you have never seen one before, you should probably buy it” moments…. But can’t find anything out about it all. I have tried all sorts of combinations in searches such as adapter, conversion etc, but nothing.

It’s got a DZ35 fuze that screws into the centre section and made of plastic/bakelite type of material, it has a knurled ring/grip and below a thread that fits the top of an 88mm shell head, then two holes on the top ring that are about 4mm deep. It’s dated 1940 with waffenamt stamp and makers code.

Does anyone know the official designation of this and is it an adapter to convert the fuse to make what I assume would be an IED or something else altogether?

It was used to use a grenade as a mine/IED and is called a mine adapter (Minenadapter). It is available for various grenade threads, including those for stick grenades.
