German 77mm fixed round cartridge base colours?

British Field gun cartridge cases were often painted on the base to aid ID when in the limber, I spotted two WW1 cases with the common multiple crimp the other day with bases painted black. This looked old but could be modern. Were cases marked in German use too, and if so what colours mean what.
Cheers Tig.

There were several markings, a white stripe on the base indicates a reduced (HE) charge (=thick walled K.Gr.14). A green/blue/yellow cross on the base indicated the corresponding chemical filling. But I haven't heard about a plain black base.

Thanks Alpini for the reply,it must be something that is modern, not original. I know not to buy them next time! Cheers Tig.
