German Czech 88mm cartridge??

Hello,

here in Belgium, i've found a strange cartridge.
dimensions are 679x88

the headstamp say's DOU 41 with a WaA.
at 6 o'clock: 8 23cm M23 (t)

anyone has an idea what this is? beutewaffen? and wich gun it was used for?

Very nice indeed, 83.5x677 casing so it's the correct length. Quite a lot of 8.35cm Vz 22 Czechoslovakian anti-aircraft guns served in the German army so it's not surprising they manufactured ammunition for them. Yours was made, if I am not mistaken, by the "Waffen-Werke Brünn und Bystrika" which is the Czech weapon and ammunition manufacture, famous mainly for manufacturing Mauser rifles, machine guns and small arms rounds. Not a very easy to find casing. Well done! Frank.
