More hand me downs from Nan, and more questions.

THese look German to me, some little eagle stamp? Marked 1936 6343 F.K.16n.A also has a P and 68 on one case and the same stamps but P181 and 20on other.

Both don't have what I would call a firing pin, but some metal block, stamped 1942, c/12nASL?

Measure 90mm across base 77mm open end, and 200mm long

These are indeed German cases of original length, for the 7,5 cm FK16n.A. (7,5 cm Field Kanone model 1916 neue Art, in English 7,5 cm fieldgun model 1916 new type). The P is the manufacturer, Polte. The number is the LOT number, 1936 is the year of manufacture. Over here in The Netherlands a common case. The primer is a c/12 nA St, construction 1912 neue Art Steel.

6343 is the number designating for the 7,5 cm FK16nA, there are different numbers for many different German cases.

Wow thank you for such a clear and consise breakdown of what they are! This fourm is proving very useful. So it was a WW1 cannon still being used early in WW2 I assume until it proved inaffective against armour?

And what sort of value do these have I guess is also the question?

In The Netherlands such a case of this good quality would do 15-20 Euro each I think.
