German M24 fragmentation sleeve measurements

Can someone tell me what the inside diameter of a smooth fragmentation sleeve should be? I have been looking at one that is reportedly 5.9 cm inside diameter which is the same as the outside diameter of the grenade head. Seems to me that the diameter of the sleeve should be slightly smaller so that there would be enough friction to hold it firmly in place. Any assistance would be appreciated. I tried to search the forum but didn't find what I was looking for.

So do you think that a sleeve with an inside diameter of 59mm would be original? That doesn't seem to be much of a difference in size and I'm wondering if that would be sufficient to retain the sleeve in place. These smooth sleeves would be simple to fake which is the reason for my concern.

sorry for short reply, not much time around me at present,

Ok,, now if its a smooth sleeve it will be a very tight fit as it has a slit to enable it to expand over the can, segmented sleeves have the claws that the snap ring locks into place.
hope this helps.

piccs would be helpful as there are fakes around of these.
