That's a great shell and so complete!
Thanks for showing it. I'd often wondered what propaganda shells and their contents look like.
Dave.

These pics are only my vision, originally the case isn`t for propaganda shell also?
Best

Nice cutaway, thanks for showing it!
I have a lower body of this type Weiss-Rot-Gr. and this will be my next restoration project.
Im not sure about the fuze of my showed propaganda shell, this is not original its fitted later. I have only original fuze base, there are three screw head visible and the showed fuze has only two.

The box is for a specific shell, F.H.Gr.F. ( F= Fern; Long range ). This projectile was made for a special version of the gun, called 10 cm. l.F.H 18 M ( M=Mndungsbremse; Muzzle brake ) designed for long range firing.
Attached picture of the shell and about gun you may learn more on page 177 of "Small Arms, Artillery and Special Weapons of 3rd Reich"
So, unfortunately the propagande shell is not correct filling to this box :tinysmile_cry_t4:

Hmm, my mistake, i must learn a lot! But witch carrier is correct?

If I get you right this wooden box only for F.H.Gr.F? Is it right the gun l.F.H.18M used AP, HE and HL shells and also propaganda shells, are they all a specific shells? How they carry them, witch kind of carry case?

Is anybody have labels or any kind of pictures of carry case for German propaganda shell?

I am confused and sorry about my garbled language!

Regards E

I havent seen any 105mm carry case witch has only for one type of ammo.
I take my words back. I forget the metal container for HL of course and post 2 showed wooden box as it seems:s:. Possible all other type of ammo carried with rack (HE, AP etc.)

Le.F.H.18(M) used long range ammo and also original le.F.H.18 ammo.

In my experience carrying racks for normal size shells of each caliber were universal, BUT had always stencilled markings indicating what type was packed inside at each time. Stencils were at least at end ( to identify when crates were piled ) but also often on side.

I have tested the shell matching with carrying rack but seems like some fllklotz is needed if this rack good be probable and also some interesting pictures how the leaflets are folded and then filled. The shell was loaded with almost 200 leaflets in pipe.
