I had wondered if infantry mortar bombs were ever converted for use as aerial bombs.What kind of safety did they have? Were they dispensed from a container or dropped individually?

I would have said they were container dropped,not sure about the safety feature though?
Again a guess would be that an aircraft could not land with a full container and they would jettison it on way home??
