It is a standard AZ73, the bomb is made from a german 8 cm mortar granade.

Found this for sale on egun, not sure what the attachment is.

Ive seen that one too.I think that is the filling funnel for it as its stamped with the bombs initials on it.

Also I have a SD-3Kg with a AZ-73A1 fuze in my collection. This bomb was to be able to begin an attempt over from unmaigen 8cm grenade launchers some more. And in order to fill the gap from SD-1 and SD-10 to.

Hello all
I had wondered if infantry mortar bombs were ever converted for use as aerial bombs.What kind of safety did they have? Were they dispensed from a container or dropped individually?

Hi TDD,

I would have said they were container dropped,not sure about the safety feature though?
Again a guess would be that an aircraft could not land with a full container and they would jettison it on way home??
